If many teenagers are happy to attempt for a job in a restaurant or in a shop, a New Yorker teenager has chose for something else. Taking advantages of its programming skills he had developed a worm that took Twitter offline for some time. Through this, many peoples could read insignificant tweets like Ashton Kutcher’s thoughts about socks and other similar things.

There was even the statement “Twitter hired Mikeyy” listed on the site. Even if this was not true, after this young boy hacked Tweeter he had received other two job offer in this way (according to ABC News). The reply received from Mikeyy related to the attack over Twitter was that his intentions were not to harm Twitter, but to alert them. In one tweet write by Mikeyy was even said: “Twitter, this sucks! Fix your coding.“

Many think that this was an irresponsible action. Even if Twitter has its vulnerabilities, the best choose was to inform Twitter about this. “The last thing we want is a wave of other kids exploiting software and websites, in the hope that they might be rewarded with a job offer.” (Source)

It is well known that Internet pornography is something that we should keep our children well aware and away from. Internet pornography sites should only be accessible to adults, yet it is increasingly and increasingly easier for children to log in to a high-speed Internet connection from anywhere – school, libraries, coffee shops, home – and view these types of websites.

With the expansion of Internet websites like Myspace and Facebook, we saw the birth of social media where users can connect and chat with each other on an easy to customize homepage of their own. Social media has been taken even further, though. Microblogging platforms like Twitter and Pownce have been developed. These allow Internet surfers to create an account and send small messages to friends and followers. However, some of these microblogging platforms have gone sour due to Internet pornography. And children are susceptible to these issues as they are some of the most frequent visitors to these sites.

Children can use microblogging to send messages and short ideas to anyone who might be following them. In some cases, some of these followers might be spamming webmasters who use social media and microblogging networks to spam their porn websites out to thousands of people. Children can thusly be affected by these incoming messages, and view pornography from a website that should have been protected from these sorts of activities.

Because these microblogging platforms now seem incapable of protecting our children from Internet pornography and other types of spam, the responsibility is now on us, the adults, to teach our children what they should do if they ever encounter unexpected pornography on the Internet. As a suggestion, we think you should talk to your children about how you can better protect them face to face. This can give a child an increased sensation of self-management and help them make their own, proper decisions on what websites they choose to affect their own lives.

The Twitter start-up was an amazing thing to watch. In a matter of months, tech junkies and Internet fans crowded the webs and added a new word to our vocabulary – microblogging. Microblogging is similar to a blog in that you can write anything and everything that you want, but as with Twitter’s microblogging system, you are limited to only 120 characters to write with per post. Twitter users can send tweets to one another sharing links, replying to conversations, and finding more people to follow and listen in on what they are writing.

However, lately Twitter has been getting some very malicious users on its microblogging platform. On a day to day basis, more spam users are signing up just to try to get traffic to their websites. Many of these websites contain pornographic images and other adult content. Being that Twitter is supposed to be family-friendly, and a non-pornographic community for all ages, you can see that Twitter has its problems.

When these spammers log on to their account, they’ll usually start by adding an attractive woman’s picture and automate the addition of friends using scripts and other hacks. Unknowing Twitter users will sometimes check out that spammer’s profile and follow that user. When the spammer sends out a tweet, it will contain a link to their pornographic website. Children especially may end up clicking on these links.

Twitter isn’t supposed to be a dangerous website, but if Twitter can’t find a way to block this type of spamming activity, we could see a load of lawsuits headed their way. Their policies are supposed to protect children from adult content, yet every day, more and more adult content spammers are unleashing their wraths on Twitter and its users. If Twitter is a part of your daily web activities, then find a way to protect yourself from these spammers. Only add people you know and trust, and don’t accept adds from strangers. Also, teach your children the importance of staying safe online.
